Heavy Duty Floor Mounted Spreading Machine
(Automatic Material Dispensing
System)
Automatic Material Dispensing System was designed to
spread heavy materials on conventional cutting tables. The unit is mounted on
floor mounted tracks that are installed along each side of a conventional table.
In this case the tracks are extended at one end of the table in order to load
the material onto the dispensing drive. The roll is placed in the staging area
and a reinforcing tube is inserted into the paper tube. The loading slings are
hooked to the hoisting straps that raise the material to the dispensing drive
unit. Once the drive and idler units have the material secure, the hoisting
straps are disconnected. The material is dispensed down through a "dancer bar"
to clamps on the table. The spreading unit is equipped
with an edge guiding system to assure the material is aligned correctly on the
table. As the unit traverses down the tract the unit feeds the material at the
speed the operator chooses. This particular unit is used by
the aircraft industry to spread a carbon fiber material that will be used in
future passenger air craft. The unit traverses at a variable speed the operator
chooses. The Automatic Material Dispensing System will handle rolls of material
up to 144" wide 36" in diameter, and weight of 2000
pounds.
